All-girl avant-rock trio nisennenmondai are bringing their post-punk, neo-wave/disco rock to Australia for the first time.

nisennenmondai (meaning ‘year 2000 problem’), are a wildly intense instrumental trio from Tokyo that formed in 1999. With massive sound, heavy on distortion, and infectious rhythms, the lovely nisennenmondai are a force that is most definitely best experienced live.

They have shared stages in Japan, United States and Europe with the likes of: Battles, Lightning Bolt, Prefuse 73, Mike Patton, Damo Suzuki, Cluster, Cornelius, ZU, OOIOO, Original Silence (Thurston Moore, Terrie Ex, Mats Gustafsson, Jim O’Rourke, Massimo Pupillo, Paal Nilssen Love), Buffalo Daughter, Ruins, Afrirampo, Acid Mothers Temple and many, many more.
